EYEFINITYSM A HIT WITH EYE DOCTORS
Online Electronic Claims, Web sites Soar
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA, June 8, 2000 -- Eye care providers looking for a better way to connect with their patients and streamline their front offices are finding an answer through Eyefinity.
Launched as a separate company by Vision Service Plan less than two months ago, Eyefinity has attracted more than 14,000 users - so far.
Eyefinity has already handled more than one million authorization, claim, and lab order transactions through its electronic claims submission system. And, more than 8,000 eye doctors are now developing free Web sites through Eyefinity’s "eWeb" service.
"The tremendous response clearly demonstrates that Eyefinity is providing a valuable tool for providers to manage key front-office functions," said Don Yee, President and CEO of Eyefinity. "It also shows that many practices are quickly seeing the potential of the Web for showcasing their offices and better serving their patients."
Eyefinity’s comprehensive family of "e" products is designed to bring the power of the Internet to the private practice. In addition to the company’s existing electronic claims, free Web hosting and industry news services, a number of new, exciting applications will become available in the coming weeks. Examples include:
- "eClaim," a faster, streamlined version of the company’s current electronic claims submission system;
- "eMail," giving providers and their staffs free access to electronic mail;
- "eCommerce," enabling offices to order a wide range of eyewear and office products right from their desktop computers.
"New technologies are creating new possibilities on the Internet every day," he says. "At Eyefinity, our plan is aggressive, yet simple: Support providers in virtually every aspect of their practice, from services that simplify the front office, to programs designed to better reach new and existing patients."
