Eyefinity Most Visited Business Web Site in Optical Industry

On 1st Anniversary, Company Reports Nearly 14 Million Transactions

NEW YORK, NY, March 23, 2001 -- In an era of "dot.com" turbulence and uncertainty about who will guide the e-commerce revolution in the eyecare industry, one company continues to demonstrate its leadership position as the most widely used business-to-business e-commerce site in the optical industry.

Since launching at Vision Expo East 2000, EyefinitySM has conducted nearly 14 million transactions and continues to see its customer base increase substantially with more than 16,000 eye care professionals and 300 labs now using its e-commerce engine for a growing list of new services.

"We're gratified by the support we've received from doctors, labs, manufacturers and suppliers," said Don Yee, President and CEO of Eyefinity. "Our vision of connecting the entire industry in ways that grow and simplify the business of eye care is something I think we can all agree on. As a company, we are committed to making that happen."

Indeed, since its inception, Eyefinity has introduced a number of new services for eye care professionals and industry partners, including:

  • eLab - a special portal enabling optical labs to quickly obtain the thousands of prescription orders that flow through Eyefinity each day.

  • eWeb - eye care professionals can create and host Web sites to highlight their practice capabilities, products and promotions.

  • eMail - this free service gives eye care professionals and staff members an effective new communication tool for patients and suppliers.

  • eClaim - the speedy new insurance processing system enables eye care professionals to file claims quickly and easily to more than 820 insurers nationwide.

  • eBuy - now available in the Western U.S., Eyefinity's ordering system offers a new level of convenience and simplicity for eye care professionals and their optical product purchasing needs. Plans call for the system to be available nationally later this spring.

"As we move into our second year of operation, we're excited about the future," Yee said. "We've only begun to tap the power of e-commerce for our industry and in 2001 we'll be introducing additional services and forming additional alliances to make Eyefinity even more valuable for our customers."

Eyefinity is dedicated to transforming the eyecare industry with innovative and fully integrated online business solutions, linking independent eyecare professionals with optical labs, manufacturers and consumers for superior patient care and smart practice management. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, Eyefinity serves more than 16,000 private eyecare practices and processes millions of transactions monthly.
