Eyefinity Introduces eBuy to Western U.S.
Plans Call for National Rollout Later this Spring
SACRAMENTO, CA, March 22, 2001 -- Thousands of eye care providers and their staffs across the West are just one click away from a new level of convenience and time savings with Eyefinity'sSM new optical product ordering service, eBuy.
Launched by Eyefinity throughout the West this week, eBuy enables doctors and their staffs to purchase a wide range of contact lens products from the same site where millions of other eye care business transactions are already occurring every month. States included in the current release are Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
"Thousands of doctors and staff already use Eyefinity every day to submit lab orders and claims, as well as to manage their practice Web sites and their e-mail," said President and CEO Don Yee. "eBuy represents another positive step toward Eyefinity's goal of connecting the entire industry so that eye care professionals can simplify and grow their businesses."
eBuy streamlines product ordering in a number of ways, including the ability for each office to quickly find and select their favorite products via a customized product list, along with a new feature that enables staff to reorder contact lenses without having to search patient files for prescription information.
Other benefits include round-the-clock ordering, a tracking system that simplifies order management, along with a direct-delivery option that allows offices to deliver product directly to patients with one click.
"With eBuy, we've put the power of technology into the optical ordering process," Yee said, noting the service will debut nationally later this spring and that additional products will be added soon. "It's all about simplification. By going online, providers can meet their product needs with a few clicks rather than multiple phone calls and the process of managing those orders is simpler with our order tracking feature."
Office Manager Becky Kim of Bradshaw Optometry in Sacramento, California, agrees. "eBuy is quick and easy, I just type in the information and eBuy takes care of the rest. It's much easier than using the phone for ordering."
Eyefinity, the optical industry's leading source for e-commerce programs and services, is dedicated to transforming eyecare with innovative and fully integrated online business solutions, linking independent eyecare professionals with optical labs, manufacturers and consumers for superior patient care and smart business management. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, Eyefinity serves more than 16,000 private eyecare practices and processes millions of transactions monthly.
